Mother’s Day

During Mother's Day women deserve to be celebrated and pampered with goodies

Mother’s Day is around the corner and it’s time to let mom know how much she means to you. If you haven’t planned anything for her yet, here are some great ways to get the kids to help out with these thoughtful gift ideas that you can either DIY or splash out and buy.

Lovely Scrub

There’s nothing like a long hot bath to soothe away stress. Give mom the break she deserves with a fragrant home-made body scrub. It’s really easy to make and you only need a few ingredients. Mix ½ cup of coconut oil, ½ cup brown sugar and ½ teaspoon of vanilla together, pour the mixture into a pretty glass jar, and decorate it with ribbons or stickers. If you really want to go all out, treat your mom to a salon massage or manicure as well.

Goodie Box

Take an empty shoebox and decorate it beautifully with paint, glitter, ribbons or stickers. Fill it to the brim with her favourite sweets and snacks. Treats can include anything from chocolate bars and confectionary to home-made cupcakes, popcorn and cookies. For something a little different, surprise her with a chocolate and wine pairing.

Jar of Love

Write down the many reasons you love your mom on different pieces of coloured paper. Then put them all into a decorated jar. Ask mom to open a different one each morning. It’s sure to put a smile on her face for the rest of the day.

Cute Coupons

Get some coloured pens and cardboard and make your mom a coupon book of love. Write a treat on each coupon for her to cash in. This can include anything from breakfast in bed and a free car wash to making her a cup of tea, doing the dishes and bathing the dogs. Be creative, she’ll really appreciate it!

 Grow your own

Everyone loves fresh-cut flowers, so if you’re thinking of buying mom a big bouquet, go ahead! But if you’d like to do something a little different, consider buying her some flower seeds and decorating your own flower pot instead. You can plant the seeds together, water them every day and watch as they grow into something beautiful.
